FCN launches Partner Logo for businesses supporting latest fundraising initiative.

The Farming Community Network (FCN) is working with thelandsman to launch its latest fundraising campaign and is looking for industry partners at the Farm Business Innovation Show to help deliver this initiative. The monies raised will support funding the development of a new website. Any organisation contributing to the fundraising will become a recognised Partner and will have free use of a logo to show their support to FCN.

FCN, a voluntary organisation and charity that supports farmers and families within the farming community through difficult times, has a network of over 400 volunteers across England and Wales. Many of its volunteers are involved in farming, or have close links with agriculture, and therefore have a great understanding of the challenges farmers and farming families regularly face.

FCN’s National Partnerships Manager, Vicki Beers, said of the campaign, “Since 1995, FCN has supported thousands of people through a myriad of challenges, including financial difficulties, animal disease, mental health and family disputes. People will continue to need our support in these areas but with Brexit looming, and the additional stresses and strains this will place on the farming community through the transition period and beyond, it is highly anticipated that demand for our services will increase considerably.”

Not only will FCN be on hand to support farmers whose businesses are struggling as a result of Brexit, but the charity also wants the farming community to be well-informed, resilient and embrace the forthcoming changes that lie ahead.

“We need to provide as many opportunities as possible for people needing our help to be able to reach us – through growing our volunteer base, to providing easy access to FCN support resources. People often struggle with problems long before they reach out for help. Our website needs to give them access to as much information, as quickly as they need it, throughout the stages of their journey to seeking help. The new site will allow us to create a repository of information that people can access quickly and easily. It will keep them informed about the latest changes within agriculture and provide further information about how FCN can support them, whether their issue is personal or business-related.”

FCN has designed a Partner Logo that any company contributing to the cost of developing this new website will be free to use to promote their involvement in the campaign; across their own marketing collateral, PR and social media.

Sam Conway, FCN Marketing & Communications Manager, explains, “As a charity, we rely solely on grants and donations in order to continue supporting the farming community. We are in an extremely competitive space so we want to ensure that any organisation choosing to support us in delivering help and support, benefits too. This logo will be the ‘stamp’ that evidences the valuable support that such organisations give FCN and the wider farming community. What better way for organisations drawing from the farming network to give something back. We hope to see a big take up of interest in this campaign.”

FCN will be returning to the Farm Business Innovation Show on 7th and 8th November and will be on stand number 2100. If you would like more information about how you can support this initiative, please pay FCN a visit and ask to speak to Vicki or Sam.

FCN will also be running a seminar called “Are You Fit For Business?”, which will encourage attendees to think about their mental and physical wellbeing and how it might impact their work on the farm. The seminar will be in Theatre 5 on Wednesday 7th November at 2pm.
