Continuum Attractions acquires Greenwood Forest Park

The popular eco-attraction in North Wales was bought by Continuum Attractions for an undisclosed sum earlier last month.

The formerly family-owned park is rated amongst the UK’s Top 10 Attractions on TripAdvisor, has been voted Best Family Attraction in North Wales six consecutive times and has been awarded the North Wales Tourist Board’s Green Award and Business Innovation Award.

It was set up by Andrea and Stephen Bristow back in 1993, who built the park on a stretch of farmland in Bethel, overlooking Snowdonia. 24 years later, the park now attracts around 150,000 visitors every year.

The hands-on approach of the park encourages children to get immersed in numerous activities exploring nature and the environment. Home to the UK’s first ever water ride powered solely by solar energy, and the only people-powered rollercoaster in the world, GreenWood Forest Park provides an excellent environment for children to learn more about sustainability while at the same time playing and having fun.

After building the park from the ground up and running it successfully over the years, the Bristow family have decided to retire and have now handed over the park to the UK leisure attraction group Continuum Attractions.

“GreenWood Forest Park is a wonderful place to visit, it also has a fantastic team in place, which is delivering that success,” said Continuum Attractions’ CEO Juliana Delaney.

“It offers a great visit for delighted and loyal guests. It also champions green and sustainability issues, and manages its environmental impact.”

“We are very proud to take on the GreenWood legacy,” she added. “We believe in the future of tourism in North Wales in particular.”

Group Attractions Director, Kevin Smith, commented “Continuum Attractions has been keen to expand into outdoor, family experiences and GreenWood will offer a fantastic opportunity for us to do so”.

“North Wales is a fantastic place to visit, not only is it an area of outstanding beauty but as the staycation continues the area is becoming a thriving hub for holiday makers bother national and international”.
